|STEP TWO - WALK IN THE TRUTH (WALK IN THE SPIRIT)|
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5:24-26
"For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. 3 John 1:3
No man can walk in the Spirit except he or she is born of the Spirit and that is Holy Spirit baptism
Jesus said in John 3:4-6 that "Verily, verily, I say unto thee,Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." To be born of water is water baptism by immersion and to be born of the Spirit is the Holy Spirit Baptism by fire from heaven. John the Baptist said in Matthew 3:11 that "I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
" Jesus meant what he said so therefore he went through the process to demonstrate everything to us. In the book of Matthew 3:13-17 the Bible says "Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
" Also He told His disciples about another Comforter from God. John 14:15-17 says that "If ye love me, keep my commandments.
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
The Bible says in Acts 1:4-8 that "And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
" Jesus knows the importance of the Holy Spirit so he told the disciples to wait for it. To live as a Christian on this earth, you need the Holy Spirit because He is the only One to comfort you in times of distress, trials persecution and the like.
Why is it so important that we walk in the Spirit?
The Bible says in Romans 8 that "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live."
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."
If you live and walk in the Spirit, then you have to bear the fruits of the Spirit as recorded in Galations 5:21-23 "
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, and Ephesians 5:8-10
For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
The fact of the matter here is that without you walking in the Spirit, you will not enter into the kingdom of heaven. If you are born of water and of the Spirit, then you have to walk in the Spirit to enter into the kingdom of heaven
The question now is that 'Have you been born of water (water baptism)?
